Alfileritos 24, Modern Restaurant in Toledo

This modern restaurant in Toledo is a good option if you are in town and are looking for something which is not too much touristy.
The building is an old house, which has been fully restored. From the outside it looks old, while the decoration inside is definitely modern, a mixture of wood, steel and glass. It consists of two different sections: the ground and first floor are for menus, tapas and drinks, while the upper ones make the actual restaurant, with the tables disposed around the classical central patio. The music is pleasant, and creates a nice ambiance. That is why we suggest Alfileritos 24: whether you are looking for tapas and a couple of drinks or if you prefer having a full meal, this restaurant is definitely a valuable choice. You can even have breakfast here, both salty and sweet.

As for the food itself, there are some good typical dishes even though there is not too much choice; nevertheless, they offer some alternatives for the little kids or for people with special dietary need (i.e. celiacs). Some of the dishes, nicely elaborated, are pretty much appreciated and have a very good value for money. For example, the deer meat, the typical croquetas or the marzipan soufflé are sure choices. If you prefer fish there are some possibilities, although it is not the restaurant specialty. Make sure you try the famous Iberian ham, either alone or with toasted bread; you will not be disappointed. The wine menu is interesting, too.

The staff is nice and attentive, although when the place is full they tend to work faster and leave some of the customers unattended, especially during week-ends. Still, they work hard in order to give a good service.

In conclusion, if you are in the Old Town of Toledo and are looking for a good tapas restaurant for lunch or a nice restaurant for dinner, without being too fancy, Alfileritos 24 deserves a visit. For more opinions please check:

Joel Robuchon, Luxury Restaurant in Monte Carlo

The Joel Robuchon is one of the top luxury restaurants in Monte Carlo. It has 2 Michelin stars ( and takes its name from the very well known French chef Joel Robuchon.

It is located inside the Hotel Metropole Montecarlo, just a few steps from the famous Casino. A Leading Hotel which represents a clear example of top class luxury. There is always someone at the door, giving you a warm welcome and ready to park your car. The hotel lobby is nicely decorated (the decoration changes periodically, depending on the season).

As for the restaurant, it is not enormous but reflects completely the concept of luxury of the hotel. It is ideal for a romantic dinner, a celebration or a nice lunch; not so much for a business meeting. For those who like “enjoying the show”, there is a chefs table from which you can see the preparation of the different meals. Plus, it is the best location if you want to see the F1 Grand Prix live from the balcony.

The price goes accordingly, so this is not the best option if you are somehow on a budget. The price range goes from a minimum of 50€ to a maximum of 300€. The degustation menu is 199€ per person. Nevertheless, there are cheaper alternatives for lunch, starting from 51€ per person.

Needless to say, the quality of the food justifies the high prices. Among the dishes which are preferred by the guests, we can mention the special paella called “Arroz Bomba”, lamb ribs, and the most famous mashed potatoes in the world (because of its preparation and its high quantity of butter). The bread is home made, there is always a person carrying a tray with many different types.  The desserts are also prepared in the hotel, the guest has a wide choice, they are nicely presented on another tray.

The Capital Grille, Fancy Restaurant in Denver

Whether you are in Denver to visit the city or as a base for excursions up in the mountains, the Capital Grille is a valuable option if you like having a steak in a relaxed yet fancy environment (dress code is generally required). It is a franchise, but do not expect it to be disappointing.

This fancy restaurant in Denver is located in Larimer Square, a very busy area of the city, full of bars and other restaurants. It is very close to the Denver Centre of the Performing arts, which makes it ideal if you are going to watch a show. Finding a parking space for your car can be challenging; that is when you already realize that this is a classy restaurant: they have a valet parking service, which comes in handy.

One of the strong point of this restaurant is the service you receive. Beside the valet service, at the entrance there is a host/hostess, who will welcome you and escort you to your table. The waiters can give you good suggestions about the food, they know the menus very well. Everyone will just go out of their way in order to make you comfortable. They are mostly attentive, but never pushy. They have VIP treatment for special occasions, too: it is always nice to see a birthday card on your table or a rose for your wife on the day of your Wedding Anniversary.

As for the restaurant itself, it has a bar (make sure to try their pinapple Martini) and different rooms, which can be opened or closed, depending on the occupancy. The smallest one has a capacity of 12 people, while the largest can accomodate up to 36. It is possible to book them separately for business meetings, groups or even a private dinner. A planner can help you with all the details. It can get very crowded, especially during week-ends (reservation is highly recommended); if you do not like noise, it is best to book a table when it is more quiet.

Concerning the food, as previously mentioned the steak is the main dish of the Capital Grille and it is said to be one of the best in the city. Nevertheless, there is a wide choice of other types of food. For example, The Chef’s Seasons Soup Cup and the Grille’s signature Cheeseburger are a couple of good options for lunch, especially if accompanied by a good wine and followed by a classic crème brulée.

For dinner, the Filet Mignon combined with seasonal vegetables or mashed potatoes will not disappoint you. In case you do not like meat, they have salmon, crab, and the kitchen staff will do everything possible in order to adapt the dishes to your dietary needs (allergies, intolerance…)

Ribello, Luxury Restaurants in Mallorca

Ribello is an Italian restaurant, which is a nice option in case you are looking for luxury restaurants in Mallorca and want to take a break from Spanish food. It is located right in Palma old town, la Loja.

You will realize this is a high level restaurant from the first moment: a host will greet you with a big smile and show you your table. The waiters are nice and well trained, too. The decoration is contemporary, the color black is predominant; according to various guest the lights could be brighter, since it is difficult to read the menu. The majority like them as they are.

As for the food, the Head Chef gave a personal touch to some of the symbols of the Italian cuisine. The appetizers are good although a little expensive. The carpaccio with Parmesan Cheese and rucola is a must to start the meal with something fresh, while if you like pasta the ravioli with Marsala and truffle sauce are much appreciated by the guests. They have only one type of pizza, but it is worth tasting it: the dough is thin, the cheese is high quality mozzarella and it has a slightly spicey taste, which makes it unique.  If you want to end your meal with a fine typical dessert, try the home made tiramisú: you will not be disappointed.

Luxury Restaurants in London: the Spice Market

The Spice Market is a nice option among the luxury restaurants in London, which belongs to the Culinary Concepts Hospitality Group, and Sister Property of the Spice Market New York. It is located inside the W Hotel Leicester Square, quite close to the Adelphi Theatre, which means a wonderful location, and perfect for pre-theatre dining.

The atmosphere is trendy and informal, with a modern decoration. It is possible to eat upstairs at the dining room or at the bar. The music can be too loud for some people, so do consider this fact in case you decide to go there.

There are several critis about being expensive, even for London standards, but definitely worth a visit. In particular, for special occasions such as a birthday or even an informal business meeting. The food is Asian, with some individual contributions from the Chef Peter Lloyd; several spicy dishes (one more thing you should keep in mind). The taster menu is a valuable option if you are not sure about what to have. They can suggest some alternatives for vegetarians, or people with allergies, too. The wine menu has different choices, although you might want to ask a staff member for advice when it comes to combining it with the food. There is a good selection of cocktails, too.

The Service is normal for a luxury restaurant in London, service is polite and mostly attentive. Even though during the week it seems to be relatively calm, for the week ends it tends to get very crowdy, service gets slower and the loud music makes communicating with the waiters more difficult. The tables are close to each other, so it is not exactly the best restaurant for a romantic dinner. In any case, make sure you book in advance, because, as said earlier, it is worth a visit.
